Landsknecht and Death - Men's T-Shirt

Death and Lansquenet - a woodcut by Albrecht Dürer on a woman's Catholic t-shirt. A work by the German Renaissance artist that is an allegorical, symbolic representation of the passing of time. It shows a skeleton with an hourglass in his hand, showing it to a soldier. The man, who has repeatedly sent others to the other side, now realizes that his time has come. The design on this T-shirt is taken from the cover of the illustration collection A Little Passion by Albrecht Dürer.

At Deus Design, we love the work of Albrecht Dürer for the great graphic style, the expressive depiction of emotion and the profound symbolism of his works. This is why we made a few T-shirts with Durer Christian motives. The quotation under the woodcut is from the Gospel of St. Mark chapter 1 verse 15 and is an excerpt from the gospel reading on the first Sunday of Lent. It is the part that tells of Christ's fasting in the desert and his subsequent call to repentance.
